Thyron is a free music player for local audio files on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. Playback, search and playlists work offline without an account or subscription. Music is added from your own files; the app does not include a streaming catalog.

Adding audio files
The library is built from files in the selected storage. Multiple folders can be connected and selected in Storage. Each storage has its own tracks and playlists.
On desktop and Android, open Storage → Add storage folder. Select a folder containing audio files. The app scans supported files and reads track names, artists, and artwork from their metadata.
On iOS, open Storage → Import audio files and select files in the system picker. They are copied into the app’s internal storage.
Tracks appear in the library after scanning. On desktop, tracks and playlists are displayed side by side. On a phone, swipe horizontally to switch between them.

Searching tracks and playlists
Search works within the current storage and checks track names, artists, and playlist titles. Results update as the query is entered.
Enter part of a title or artist name in the search field above the library.
To narrow the results, use several words, such as part of a title and an artist name. Search ignores letter case and diacritics.
Fuzzy search allows small spelling errors. If there are no results, shorten the query or check the title and artist in the file’s metadata.

“sneky” → Sneaky Snitch
Fuzzy search example: the query “sneky” matches “Sneaky Snitch”. Search also checks artist names and playlist titles.
Creating and editing playlists
A playlist contains selected tracks from the current storage. Tracks can be added to an existing playlist or to a new playlist created during the same operation.
Press and hold a track to enter selection mode. Click other tracks or drag down with the mouse button or finger held down. Then select Add to playlist.
Select an existing playlist. To create one, choose Add playlist, enter a name, and confirm with OK.
Clicking a playlist name starts playback of its tracks. The three-dot menu opens its contents, where individual tracks can be played or removed from the playlist.

Playback controls
The playback panel is at the bottom of the window. It shows the current track and playback position, with controls for skipping tracks, pausing, shuffle, and repeat.
Select a track or playlist to start playback. Use the center button to pause or resume and the adjacent buttons to skip to the previous or next track.
Move the progress slider to seek within the track. Shuffle changes the track order; repeat enables repeated playback.
On desktop, hover over the speaker icon to adjust volume. When the main window is closed, controls remain available in the tray mini-player. Open Thyron restores the main window.

Local network synchronization
Transfers are started manually between two devices on the same local network. The leading device sends missing tracks to the receiving device, and playlists are merged.
Connect both devices to the same local network. Open Thyron and select a storage on each device.
On the receiving device, open Settings → Local network sync → Receive. Wait for Ready to receive and keep the window open.
On the leading device, open Settings → Local network sync → Synchronize. Select Find devices, then Synchronize beside the intended device. Keep both apps open until the transfer finishes.
